About the Author

Leonard Rebello, M. Sp. Ed, learning disabilities specialist and reading therapist, received his Orton-Gillingham training at the Reading Disabilities Unit at Massachusetts General Hospital, under the direction of Phyllis Meisel, Elena Lakey, and Lynda Pinaud. He graduated from Curry College and Lesley University and has over 30 years of evaluating, diagnosing children with special needs and teaching children with learning disabilities and dyslexia in both public and private schools and private tutoring. He holds certifications in elementary education, special education, elementary school principal and reading therapist. He is trained in :

Orton-Gillingham and Advanced Orton-Gillingham, Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy (DIBELS) at Massachusetts General Hospital, Telian Multisensory Mnemonic Program, Lively Letters, Wechsler Intelligence Scales, Woodcock-Johnson Tests of Achievement and Cognitive Abilties, Wechsler Individual Tests of Achievement, and experienced in administering and interpreting a variety of testing instruments.
